Key terms
- Deceased (pewaris) — the person who died leaving an estate.
- Heirs — relatives entitled to a share (KHI Art. 171–174).
- Furudh — fixed shares: 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 2/3, 1/3, 1/6.
- Ashabah — residuary heirs who take what remains after fixed shares.
- 'Aul — proportional reduction when shares exceed the estate; Radd — return of the surplus when there is no residuary.
Core shares
- Sons and daughters together: a son receives twice a daughter's share (Art. 176).
- Daughters without sons: 1/2 for one, 2/3 for two or more.
- Husband: 1/2, or 1/4 with children. Wife: 1/4, or 1/8 with children (Art. 179–180).
- Father: 1/6 with children; mother: 1/6 with children or two or more siblings, otherwise 1/3 (Art. 177–178).
Substitute heirs
When a child dies before the deceased, the child's own children may take their place (Art. 185). IndoWaris applies this automatically based on dates of death.
Successive deaths (munasakhah)
When an heir dies before the estate is divided, their share passes to their own heirs. Enter everyone's date of death and IndoWaris calculates every stage.
How to use IndoWaris

- Create a case and add the deceased with the date of death — or upload the Family Card/death certificate and let the AI prepare the data.
- Add spouses, children, parents and siblings with the "Add relative" button.
- Open the Chart tab to see the family tree and the Result tab for each heir's share.
- Download the chart (SVG/PNG/PDF) or generate a PPTX deck.
